The download button in the app
Most streaming apps let you save films to your phone or tablet and watch them later with the internet switched off. Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, SonyLIV, ZEE5, Aha and Hoichoi all have it, which makes a long flight home to India the perfect time for Ponniyin Selvan: Part I or Bāhubali 2: The Conclusion.
How to do it
Open the film in the app and tap the download arrow next to the play button. Choose the quality first; the smaller setting saves space. The film waits in the app's Downloads tab and plays in airplane mode.
Which app has it
Open the film here, pick your country, and Watch Now shows every service carrying it. Choose one with a download option.
Good to know
Downloads last for a set period and refresh when you reconnect, and rentals start their viewing window when you first press play.
